The Pokémon Company International announced today that a new set for the popular Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions , will be available beginning January 17, 2025, at participating retailers worldwide, including Pokémon Center, the leading online destination for official Pokémon merchandise.

In Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions Players and collectors can look forward to cards featuring Eevee and its eight Evolutions, all of which will appear as Stellar Tera Pokémon ex. In honor of Eevee and its Evolutions, Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions available in Elite Trainer Boxes and various collections of accessories and items featuring these popular Pokémon.

Players can also enjoy discovering unique special illustration rare cards with various stunning art styles and effects. In addition, there will be two sets of premium parallel cards in Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions , featuring a background with a Poké Ball or a Master Ball.

Prior to the release of the physical version, Trainers can Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions digital play via the Pokémon TCG Live app for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices starting January 16, 2025. Players can play new Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions unlock cards for free through the Battle Pass and test their skills on the rebalanced ranked ladder.

The next Japanese set called SV1S Scarlet ex / SV1V Violet ex has finally been revealed after a long wait since the first teaser during the World Championships last summer.

This is the first set of the Scarlet & Violet generation TCG and introduces the first batch of cards, including the new Paldea region. This is a dual set, meaning Violet ex and Scarlet ex are two separate sets.

This set introduces the new ex mechanic. Pokémon ex cards have been confirmed to include Basic, Stage 1, and Stage 2 Pokémon. These have high HP that "rival that of Pokémon VMAX" and when these cards are disabled, they also award two Prize cards. Koraidon ex, Miraidon ex, Arcanine ex (Tera Type) have been revealed. These Terastal Pokémon cards appear to be structured and have powerful effects.
